Room of the Month: Kitchen

Room of the Month:
Kitchen
October is a great time to de-clutter and organize our kitchen. Most of us will be using our kitchens more than usual, over the next few months. Baking and cooking for school functions, parties, and the upcoming holidays.Organize your kitchen this month.

Organize and de-clutter your kitchen the way that flows and functions best for you and/or your family. Keep in mind that you do not have to complete this room all at once. You may find it easier to break this project down in sections. For example, one drawer, one cabinet, one space at a time.

Finally, create a Plan of Action. Keep it simple. Using what you have, and some imagination, you can create a kitchen that is inviting and functional for you, your family, and guests.

Hello June

This month we celebrate Father's Day, Flag Day, and the 1st Day of Summer! Those with young children will have the challenge of providing activities for the summer school break. Parents of older children, may have children moving out on their own, going off to college, or other life changing events. Many of us will begin planning weekend trips and vacations for the summer.

Take some time to plan out this month, or perhaps the next 3 months, and create a Task List. Write down everything you

New Year's Resolution Check-In

If you have achieved your New Year's Resolution...Congratulations!!! Whatever changes you made, in order to achieve your results...keep it up!

If you are still working on your goals...Way To Go!!! You have not given up, even though at times you may feel you haven't made enough progress. Keep working towards your goal, and consider adding support in order to achieve them.

If you gave up before you even got started, or never made any resolutions...it's not too late to get started now. Keep in mind that, whether we're working on progressing and changing, or we do nothing...time still passes by. Pick something that you would like to accomplish by the end of this year and is attainable. Maybe you want to learn another language, be kinder, volunteer your time to a group or organization that you care about, etc. There are so many things to choose besides the good old standby of Weight Loss, Quit Smoking, Excercise, etc. Remember this...no matter how big or small you may think it is...All positive change is good change!

Think outside of the box and decorate it....

So you're de-cluttering your house, and living on a tight budget.  In your process of getting organized, you realize that you don't have enough storage containers, and would rather not spend the money purchasing them.  I have been there myself, and though it may not seem very fancy, I came up with the idea of making my own storage containers with things I have laying around the house that could then be used and displayed. I've listed a few ideas below.

Hello April

This month starts off with April Fool's Day, and Easter.  Also, Tax Day is just around the corner.  Some of us with children, may have upcoming Proms and Graduation's that we're preparing for.  Many of us will begin our "Spring Cleaning".  Something else may happen this month that we're not always aware of, and that is Spring Fever.  Many articles have been written about this.  It's important to know what to watch out for in order to maintain emotional balance, while still enjoying the season.

Hello March

Many of us will find the temperatures beginning to warm up.  For some of us, the winter months tend to leave us feeling low, sad, or even depressed.  Take every opportunity to get outside and just sit quietly or take a walk.  Even if it's only a few minutes at a time.  Sunshine can do wonders for our mood! (Wear sunscreen when needed.)  This month brings St. Patrick's Day, and preparing for Easter. Making or buying decorations and other supplies. Baking desserts for school, or other events.
