Tips, Ideas and Inspiration

Hello March

Many of us will find the temperatures beginning to warm up.  For some of us, the winter months tend to leave us feeling low, sad, or even depressed.  Take every opportunity to get outside and just sit quietly or take a walk.  Even if it's only a few minutes at a time.  Sunshine can do wonders for our mood! (Wear sunscreen when needed.)  This month brings St. Patrick's Day, and preparing for Easter. Making or buying decorations and other supplies. Baking desserts for school, or other events.

Take some time to plan out this month.  Create a Task/To Do List for the month of March.  Write down everything you "need" to do, as well as all of the things that you "want" to accomplish.  Once you have everything on the list, take another look at it.  Evaluate it to make sure that it's balanced and realistic.

Don't throw away those easter baskets.  There are so many ways to re-use them as containers throughout your home.  You can easily change the "look" of the basket using a few items that you may already have in your home.   Cover the basket with a fabric print, or paint it the way you like. Be creative, even if you think you can't.

Room of the Month:

Master Bedroom

March is a great time to de-clutter and organize your bedroom.  Take some time to sit in your bedroom, and take a good look around.  Overall, how good do you feel being in your room?  How relaxed are you?  How we feel in this room, will help determine how well we sleep.

Organize and de-clutter the bedroom in a way that functions and looks the way that's best for you.  Of all rooms, the "Less is More" approach is best, when creating your bedroom.  Work on sections at a time.  Have a "Keep", "Discard"," Donate/Sell", and "Other" area.  The Other area would be for things that belong in another area of your home.  This way you can get right to work.

Suggested areas to work on:

Closet(s) and Dresser(s)

Clear out all clutter from underneath the bed.

Create a sitting area, if at all possible.  Consider  this a bonus area to go to for times when you just want to sit quietly in your own space.

Finally, create a Plan of Action.  Write it all down.  Keep it simple.  Using what you have and some imagination, you can create the bedroom that is best for you!
